A wonderful vintage Nutcracker from Germany.
This chap is unfortunately missing his handle so no longer cracks nuts, but he does make a great display piece, with his bold hand painted colours.
Nutcrackers came in many forms, but the ones depicted as a soldiers are meant to protect your house from bad energy and spirits with their strength and power.
