Antique Swedish Trundle Bench

This is a lovely Swedish pine trundle bench, in fabulous condition. Trundle benches were designed to be used as spare beds, with the lid lifting away and the front of the bench pulling out to reveal a large inner space in which a mattress would be placed.
 
This particular bench has been converted into a storage bench by adding hinges to the lid, although the front does still pull out as intended.
