19th Century Marriage Chest
A beautiful 19th century Marriage Chest, with timeworn paintings depicting red and white tulips to the front. Likely originating from Central Transylvania.
These Marriage (or Dowry) Chests, would usually have been made for a bride, to hold her wedding dress and other items for the big day. Then filled with linens or other items when moving to the marital home. Now making great storage solutions with well loved and interesting pasts.
Things to note: This is an old and timeworn piece, so please see photos where you will see honest repairs, along with evidence of historical woodworm.
