18th Century Folk Art Marriage Chest

A beautiful 18th century Folk Art Marriage Chest, with floral paintings to front. Likely originating from Eastern Transylvania. 
 
These Marriage (or Dowry) Chests, would usually have been made for a bride, to hold her wedding dress and other items for the big day. Then filled with linens or other items when moving to the marital home. Now making great storage solutions with well loved and interesting pasts. 
 
Things to note: This is an old and timeworn piece, so please see photos where you will see honest repairs, along with evidence of historical woodworm.
